Don't Scream is a new indie horror game where if you scream in game, you die. The objective of Don't scream is to survive 18 minutes while you walk around exploring a forest as the game throws tons of jumpscares at you! In this Don't Scream Video I make my way to the mini mart, 1 of 4 different directions you can head in upon waking up in the forest. Don't Scream offers little explanation as to what has happened or why you are in this forest. However, you are surrounded by so many things that raise questions as to what is going on. As I make my way to the mini mart in Don't Scream we pass by a crashed airplane with bodies hanging from the wings. Their Fate was definitely not caused by the plane crash itself by who put them there? We arrive at the mini mart only to find that its complete ransacked and has been abandoned for quite sometime. Looking like a scene from a zombie movie, the place looks like it has been out of business for quite sometime, but you quickly find that you are not alone. Before playing Don't Scream, I honestly thought that I could get through the game successfully without screaming however I hilariously failed several times. Don't Scream certainly knows the assignment and hits you with a barrage of jumpscares that make it nearly impossible to survive! Don't Scream is an awesome concept but I feel like the gimmick begins to fade after the first couple playthroughs. Don't Scream is currently in early access which means it has a lot of room to grow and I'm excited to see how it evolves over time. It would be nice if the jumpscares felt a little more connected to the game play but in its current state, the flashlight flickering serves as a loading screen for each jumpscare. Once the player recognizes this pattern, the scares become rather predictable and Don't Scream loses it charm. Overall I feel like its an awesome concept and I'm excited to see what the future holds for DON'T SCREAM.
