Promo Video Al Jeel Al Jadeed Circassian Folkloric Troupe performance in the Jerash 2017 festival on 30-7-2017 It is our pleasure to welcome you to the troupe’s performance in the finale of the Jerash Festival. Circassians hailed to Jordan in the late 1800s after a bloody war with Czarist Russia, and forced migration, from their ancient homeland in the North Caucasus. Arriving in Jordan, Circassians settled in many of what is today’s main cities and hand in hand with local Arabs built the modern state of Jordan. Al Jeel Al Jadeed Circassian Folkloric troupe was established in the 1960s with the aim of preserving and promoting Circassian folklore in Jordan. The troupe is well renowned and has participated in many local, regional and international events.
