French authorities will deploy 15,000 paramilitary gendarmes and police officers to prevent possible riots at the demonstrations of farmers on January 29, as well as any attempts to disrupt airports’ operations or drive tractors into Paris, French Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin said. Marc Fesneau, French Minister of Agriculture and Food, in turn, promised to announce new support measures for farmers within two days.
