The ever evolving city of Dubai could be enhancing its Downtown Dubai area as architecture firm Znera Space have created a new concept called Downtown Circle that shows a giant ring surrounding the Burj Khalifa. Standing at 550 metres tall with a circumference of 3000 metres, it consists of five pillars which will support five levels containing housing as well as public, commercial and cultural spaces. The circle itself would be formed by two rings held together by a continuous green belt called the Skypark which would contain waterfalls, tropical vegetation and various floras. Downtown Circle’s Skypark would also feature areas to harvest rainwater solar power as well as a system that stores carbon and filters out pollutants as part of the urban ecosystem.
