American cult band SOUL COUGHING were famous for their experimental mixture of alternative rock, hip hop, poetry, jazz and samples. Singer (and poet) Mike Doughty once described the sound of the band as “Slacker Jazz”. They released three records, before calling it quits in 2000. In 1994, just after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Ruby Vroom”, the band visited Dutch music show “2 Meter Sessies” and performed songs like ‘Screenwriter’s Blues’ and ‘Down To This’.
