I spent most of last December in Nashville and co-wrote a bunch of songs with some great people. I was lucky enough to write TWO songs with one of my favorite songwriters Molly Tuttle. This is the first one we wrote. I’ll post the second one soon. JR Look at me Don’t look at me It sometimes hurts to sing Who am I Who am I trying to be Are those the same thing This mask’s so tight I can’t breathe I’m scared of what’s beneath My voice cracked on the high note My finger missed that string I forgot the second verse Cause I had too much to drink Who said everything I touch Should be a masterpiece I failed I failed And now I’m free When I moved To this crowded city Didn’t leave my room for weeks I thought that I Would be somehow safer If I just didn’t speak I made a prison of the stage And so I hid out on the page My voice cracked on the high note My finger missed that string I forgot the second verse
