Cal Tjader “Puttin It Together“ is a live album recorded January 1973 which has not been re-released yet on CD and has long been unavailable. The video actually starts off with a track from the “Here“ live album recorded in 1977. When “Here“ was re-released on CD, my favorite track “Gary's Theme“ was left off the re-issue. So it is copied here from the long out-of-print vinyl LP as the first track, followed by the 5 tracks which make up the “Puttin' It Together“ album. I just discovered that the guitarist on this (and other Cal Tjader albums) passed away in Jan of this year (2015). Sad-I really love his playing and my reason for transferring my vinyl was largely to hear him.
