Although The Beatles disbanded in 1970, all four members continued to have an impact throughout the decade, with successful solo careers. The early '70s were marked by the deaths of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison at the age of 27. Pyshedelic music declines, but it morphs into hard rock, progressive rock, and heavy metal. Touring bands move from playing in clubs and theaters to playing in sports arenas. Many of the big bands that formed in the '60s, such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Grand Funk, and Led Zeppelin, traveled by private jet and played to arenas and outdoor stadiums for thousands of people. I'm playing in front.
