The song, Ya Taali’een ’Ala el-Jabal, was a song that Palestinian women, under the British occupation, would sing to their loved ones in prison Pressed close against the prison walls, the Palestinian women sing this song to give hope to the imprisoned insurgents, encoding messages through the tradition of Imlolaah; the addition of an extra syllable followed by a vowel between words in order to obscure the meaning from foreign invaders.
