This game is called Unreal Tournament 2004. This is the greatest, best, and most fast paced first person shooter that was ever created. Back around this time, Unreal Tournament and Quake were the two most competitive shooters of all time, and they still are today. Unreal Tournament was created by Epic Games. Unfortunately, Epic Games is now known for Fornite, the easy kids game for twitch users to profit from. In 2014, Epic Games announced a new Unreal Tournament as a Pre-Alpha Season, and it would be the main showcase for the new Unreal Engine 4. The new Unreal Tournament 4 (or Pre-Alpha) is free to play. However, around 2018, Epic Games decided to stop production on the new UT and abandoned it to work on their Fornite project. I will be doing gameplay of Unreal Tournament 2004 in this playlist to show what this amazing game was capable of. Unfortunately, the game is not as active these days, so I will mostly be playing against bots that are not at a low difficulty level. From my own personal experience, I will say this about Unreal Tournament 2004. It is the most fast paced, competitive game full of so much action that I have ever played. I spent many hours on it. Unreal Tournament and Quake are the fighting games of first person shooters. I have never seen such skill in any other game. I consider myself above average, but I am not good, and the good players are not pro. Then you have super pros like skAven and BeaR. Unreal Tournament and Quake were the shooters to play back then in competitions for money and titles. These are called arena shooters. The skilled arena shooters have been ruined and replaced by modern shooters like Call of Duty, Destiny, and Halo. Team based hero shooters like Overwatch, where one person can't make a difference on the team based on skill. Also, many of the weapon mechanics in games like Overwatch were stolen from Unreal Tournament and Quake, Half-Life, and Team Fortress. I will make a video to demonstrate what was taken. For example, Sombra's translocator is stolen from Unreal Tournament. It has the same name and function. These new shooters today are slow paced and heavily team based. I wish arena shooters would return. Players on Fornite like “Ninja“ wouldn't last two seconds in these games., but that is what people like today. Battle Royal games and hero shooters -__- Unreal Tournament 2004 had Onslaught mode, which is basically using vehicles. That was unique to UT2004. It also has the most incredible capture flag mode of any game. I have seen over a thousand or more different mods in my time playing UT2004. I learned to aim on PC because of this. This is why I get kills in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Battlefront is also slow paced and heavily team based. It's not a skilled game at all. I wish I had played UT2004 back when all of all the top players were still active in tournaments and online, but I did not have access to a good computer back then. Enjoy! Subscribe, like, and comment. ^__^
