Building a primitive wood bow with hand tools. This time I decided to go for a cable backed design. It's my first try at this type of bow. I enjoyed the process but unfortunately wasn't able to test the bow due to the arm injury. Cable backing increased the draw weight by approx. 4 lb. I used flax twine to make both strings. I'm really curious how this bow is gonna perform. For sure the cable will prevent taking too much set, but it also should increase the performance and the cast. Stay tuned, we'll find out soon! 10 minutes of pure hand tools traditional wood working. I enjoy working with wood and building anything from this amazing material. Red oak is one of my fave materials when it comes to the pleasure of work. It's very easy to work with and in the most cases pieces are straight-grained with few knots. Thanks for watching guys! #bowyer #bowmaking #selfbow #woodworking #woodworkingideas
