One of the most complex songs by the Beatles, as well as one of the greatest examples of psychedelic rock. In fact its video, along with Penny Lane, is considered by the MoMA in NY as the «most influential music video of late 60's»… The Beatles recorded “Strawberry Fields Forever“ in late 1966 to include it in the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. However, it was released as a double A-side single along with “Penny Lane.“ Both “Strawberry Fields Forever“ by Lennon and “Penny Lane“ by McCartney express the theme of nostalgia for their childhood in Liverpool. Moreover, even though they refer to real places, the two songs also contain strong surreal and psychedelic connotations typical of the era. “Strawberry Fields Forever“ is one of the most complex songs in the Beatles' entire production.
