Capybaras are highly intelligent and respond very well to training, discipline and being brought up as part of the family. They have a surprisingly large vocabulary and in this video Romeo and Tuff'n understand Marvin's announcement that they will be going for a walk. Marvin puts the capybara's harness and lead on, with a great deal of help from Romeo and Tuff'n. Romeo sits very patiently until his harness is ready, then he puts his head through the collar, and steps elegantly into the rest of his harness. Tuff'n gets a bit impatient with Marvin and grabs his leash in his mouth to speed up the process The previous day their trainer was a little late with the capybaras morning walk due to a telephone call. The capybaras waited patiently near the front door, with their noses pointed AT the front door to remind Marvin of what they should be doing.
