Follow ► The inspiration behind this video: There are two different points in the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer that set up Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's returns. The biggest example comes from the international version of the trailer, which opens with dialogue from all three live-action Spider-Man actors and their respective franchises. With reports previously suggesting that Tom Holland does cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, using Maguire and Garfield's voices in the new trailer could be a sign that they will factor into the animated movie's massive multiverse story. The official trailer also includes a reference to Spider-Man: No Way Home's events by mentioning Doctor Strange and Spider-Man from Earth-19999. Since Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man returns happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home, references to the film in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse could help connect the two films. The sequel's marketing has shown the abundance of Spider-Man variants who will appear as part of Miles Morales' next movie. Seeing as how Sony is already making sure to include references to live-action Spider-Men, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's returns is even more likely now.
