Roland D-50 D-05 pt 2: Sounds, more legendary factory presets How does the D-05 sound compared to the D-50? Can you here the sounds used on many albums in the 80s, and do you recognize any songs? Celebrating my 2 years making synth sound demos on YT, I present you with one of my first synths, the legendary #RolandD50. Ok, I gave a sneak preview a few months ago, when I compared the sounds of D-50 to the D-20, but this time we go all in. I think I got this in 1989, after working the whole summer and saving up for it. I had a Roland alpha Juno 2, which I gave as part payment. This one has stayed with me since, but I lent it to a studio in the end of the 90s for 10 years, then it was 10 years in storage. A few years ago I took it out of storage and started exploring it again. And got this PG-1000 (which I did not have back in the day). Some buttons did not work properly and battery was low, so it went for service and I got it back a year ago. Now, 2 weeks ago I found a good deal on a #RolandD05, the boutique synth from 2018. Since I heard somewhere that you could use it as a sound bank for the D-50, I thought I had to try it out. And yes, you can! I've also got a multi-card for the D-50 storing up to 8 banks of sounds, but after the first few weeks, using the D-05 feels just so much more convenient. And the D-05 has all 5 cards that Roland made (including the factory patches). And still space for another 8 banks of sounds. #rolandd50 #rolandd05 #synthsounds #rolandboutique#synthesizers #roland #keyboardist
