Today's demo is a loose watercolour landscape painting of a beautiful woodland waterfall, inspired by a photo from Pixabay: My main focus was on painting most of the waterfall negatively by painting round it leaving the white of the paper, and keeping the beautiful sunlight coming in across the top right and suffusing the whole scene. Materials: Millford 100% cotton 140lb/300g cold pressed paper, 11“ x 15“/28cm x 38cm, various brushes, see video, but use whatever brushes you prefer. I used a limited palette of Cotman watercolour tube paints in cadmium yellow lemon, sepia and paynes grey and Winsor & Newton perylene green, but use whatever colours and brushes you prefer if you feel like trying this tutorial. My board is at an angle of about 45-60 degrees. Many thanks to my lovely Patrons for your support!
