From the Rick Colom Collection: Though not categorized among the “classic” Warner Brothers musicals of the 1930s, “Ready, Willing and Able (1937)” did a great job of showcasing one of Johnny Mercer’s finest lyrics, including a song & dance on a giant typewriter set piece (film clip available on YouTube). Jimmy Brierly is vocalist on this pleasant Reisman arrangement, though it was Bing Crosby’s recorded version with the Jimmy Dorsey orchestra that outsold all the rest. 78rpm Brunswick 7831 - Too Marvelous
