An exclusive live performance for Vevo. “I’ve been dreaming of saying the words “My Debut Album” since I could remember,” Sofia Carson excitedly declared to her followers on social media last week. Dream no more, Sofia. The singer/actress’ first full length project arrived on Friday - with sleek and glassy pop production delivering pointed lyrics throughout. Lead track “LOUD” has already made waves online as a full-throated rallying cry for gender equality. In essence, the ‘Sofia Carson’ album moves the former Disney star from neophyte activist to committed pop figure using her art and platform to advance meaningful movements. There’s room for romantic power ballads too, of course. “It’s Only Love, Nobody Dies” and “LOUD” are gems. Carson and band gave them regal performances in our Brooklyn studio, invoking the same kind of grandeur that marked her 2020 “I Luv U” session. Can’t wait to see what 2024 brings. Maybe a follow-up album to last week’s totally impressive debut? S
