Bullet Impact Steel Plate - SPH Method

CFD method: SPH Description: SPH stands for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics; it is a continuum based discrete element method that uses particles to simulate the behavior of materials. Due to its dynamic structure SPH is often used to simulate fluids. However it can also be used to simulate solids. To illustrate this we have created a benchmark SPH simulation about a bullet impacting a steel plate. The plate has a thickness of 14.3 mm. The bullet, a 338 Winchester Magnum A-frame hunting bullet, impacts the
