Ebrahim Raisi will be sworn in as the new president of Iran in Tehran on Thursday, August 5. Iranians headed to the polls on June 18 to elect a successor to President Hassan Rouhani, who has served the maximum two four-year terms allowed by the constitution. Judiciary head and conservative cleric Raisi won the Islamic Republic presidential election amid a voter turnout rate of 48.8 percent.
