It is no secret that New York City streets are home to possibly millions of rats. It is not uncommon to walk near fearless rats anywhere in New York City. I came a cross a few huge rats late at night in the Upper West Side of New York City while going home. The rats were fearlessly searching for food inside a pile of trash while pedestrians walked around. Rats are mostly common on train tracks and near trash piles while some reports suggest they can be seen in apartment buildings.
