Michael Caine in Conversation. Subscribe: Legendary British actor Michael Caine took to the BFI Southbank stage for the launch of his autobiography, The Elephant to Hollywood. In conversation with Francine Stock, Caine discusses a remarkable career spanning five decades, which had led to two Oscars and a knighthood. In this clip, Caine talks about the renaissance of his career after Jack Nicholson's persistence in casting him in Blood &Wine got him out of self imposed retirement. He also recollects the challenges he faced in becoming an actor, with drama schools impossible to find in Elephant & Castle, and he tells the story of how he lucked into getting the role of Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead in Zulu (1964).
