Mark was born in Canarsie-Brooklyn. As a child Mark was attracted to art and focused on painting. His appreciation for beauty progressed into music during teenage years. Mark’s style stems from a diversified interest in rock, hip-hop, reggae and New York Jazz. Mark evolved into a magnetic front man who exudes confidence, elegance and passion on and off the stage. He spent the 90?s and 2000?s playing and touring throughout the Northeast. Robby was born in Sheepshead Bay-Brooklyn. He touched his first guitar at the age of 6, and hasn?t let go ever since. His true love for music and guitar brewed in his mid-teens, after hearing the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to name a few. Special K found success with Rick Rubin and the Treacherous Three MC?s, and is a hip hop legend who previously worked with Def Jam and Warner Brothers. Mark and Robby met by chance while riding NY Subway in 2000. Interestingly Mark was in process of “serenading“ an attractive female and Robby, who was sitting next to them, began to hymn along. Their coincidental meeting grew into BoojWazi, a balancing act whoose aura produced albums worth of solid material. Keysound Records noticed BoojWazi at a live performance and offered them an opportunity to record a demo. Positive fan-feedback of initial demo coupled with BoojWazi’s professionalism culminated in a record deal with Keysound. In process of recording the album, Special K was added to the mix to bring some NYC old school hip-hop flavor.
