UPDATE: All 379 Passengers Survive - 5 Coast Guard Crew Die Japanese broadcaster NHK confirmed that five of the six Coast Guard crew in the plane that collided with a Japan Airlines passenger jet sparking a horrific blaze died, but somehow all 379 passengers and crew aboard the A350 were evacuated before the aircraft was completely engulfed in flames. The Coast Guard aircraft had been set to deliver aid to those affected by the massive 7.6 magnitude earthquake that rocked the country on New Year’s Day.
