Google and its subsidiary YouTube have announced that they have a new policy designed to discourage people from expressing heterodox views on the subject of global warming. While their motives are no doubt elevated and correct, such a policy runs counter to the scientific method and is therefore unlikely to succeed. Halting the progress of scientific enquiry is a herculean task and one which Google will no more be able to accomplish than others before them.
