PLEASE SUBSCRIBE - Hiroaki Izumi Sensei - The Physical Principles of Aikido - volume 4 “The Third Point“ - Our bodies lack the stability we would have if we had three legs. To create motion we fall toward our third point then regain balance by moving a leg into position. Let's take a look at how knowledge of this process contributes to good aikido technique. Where the third point is positioned on the ground depends on many factors including where the ki is located in the body, how the joints are arranged, and how Uke is moving. Control can be gained through “fixing“ the ki in uke's body by using Atemi, leading, and other factors.
