Steeleye Span’s contribution to traditional roots music has been incalculable. Britain’s best-loved and enduring folk-rock band enjoyed their 20th anniversary with this concert from 1989 and play on today, with singer Maddy Prior at the helm. The celebratory Beck Theatre show features a front-line trio of Maddy, Bob Johnson and Peter Knight, and mixes classics like ‘All Around My Hat’ and ‘Gaudete’ with material from ‘Tempted And Tried’, the album that was to form the basis for their live act for years to come.
