Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine tango composer and bandoneon player. His works revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. Here is a French version of one of his most famous songs, Oblivion (J’oublie). It was recorded at one of my recent concerts in Orla with Marcin David Krol and Lucjan Szaliński-Bałwas on violins. Enjoy! Heavy, suddenly the lines and velvets of your bed seem heavy, when our love passes to oblivion with your arms embracing me in the night. My boat departs to somewhere. People do get separated but I’m forgetting. Our time seems brief, the countdown of a night when our love passes to oblivion. I’m forgetting.
