In Lumpinee Stadium in 1964 there were three bouts between Kyokushin fighters and Muay Thai fighters. All three ended in Knock-out, the score 2-1 in favour of the Japanese fighters. Interestingely you can see the Japanese fighters find a lot of success using Judo throwing techniques, in addition to their striking. Crosstraining Judo and Karate was not unusual during this time. The first fight is between Akio Fujihira and Huafai Lukcontai. The second fight, which was the last of the three in real life, is between Rawee Dechachai and Kenji Kurosaki. I could not find footage of the missing third fight of this historic event.
