MY PAL, MY SON is Track#13 off of the Jerry Chiappetta, Jr. - BLOW YOUR MIND Album. ©1981 - 2018 Jerry Chiappetta, Jr. (All Rights Reserved - BMI) Song Lyrics: My Pal, My Son is a little one, I know he won’t stay this way. From diapers to blue jeans to who knows what, these years flash quickly away. He’s too young to be left alone at night, too old to be tucked into bed. And he still wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, despite what his father has said. He’s My Pal, My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine. All we have are nuggets of memories that we both can polish with time. He’s my Pal My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine. So we’ll take our precious, nuggets of memories, that we both can polish with time. It’s hard to know when to lead him, and when to leave him alone. We have so little time to show them the way, before they’re off on their own. There are times I’ll try to show him, the right way to get things done. But to him the right way is wrong you see, when it comes, to having fun. He’s My Pal, My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine. All we have are nuggets of memories that we both can polish with time. He’s my Pal My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine. So we’ll take our precious nuggets of memories, that we both can polish with time. At times I feel so frightened, the time slips by so fast. Thank God we have our memories, I hope will forever last. I’ve taken his hand and shown him the path, the choice is his to make. Where is the road that leads to his dreams, that’s the path I hope he’ll take. ‘Cause he’s My Pal, My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine. All we have are nuggets of memories that we both can polish with time. He’s my Pal My Son, my little one, for a while he’ll be mine, so we’ll take our precious, nuggets of memories, that we both can polish with, time. -------------------------------------------------------------------- About This Song: In the 1970’s my father, Jerry Chiappetta, Sr. produced a one-hour documentary film that aired once on his weekly MICHIGAN OUTDOORS TV Show titled “My Pal, My Son“. The special was about me (Jerry Jr.) growing up from diapers, to blue jeans, to who knows what. The documentary was filmed on location for eighteen days way up in Northern Canada and was about a father (my Dad) and his son (me) on a canoe fishing adventure. The Song “My Pal, My Son“ I wrote in 1981 based on the movie that my father had made about me when I was a young boy. This song later aired as music for a different father and son canoe trip on ESPN Outdoors on several different airings and you may catch it on re-runs. Dad, thank you so very much for all of the wonderful childhood memories that we both can polish with time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Jerry Chiappetta Jr of at the Official Website:
