Chapter 2 of my Tibet videologue as we embark on our journey on the Qinghai - Tibet Railway which extends 1, 956 kilometres from Xining to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet over some of the most inhospitable yet scenic environments on earth. Said to be impossible to construct due to the punishing terrain, with 960 km of it sitting 4000m above sea level, it is an engineering marvel in its own right. It's relaxing listening to the slight rumbling sounds as stupendous views rolls by in our four to a room cabin, which we shared with 2 elderly Japanese men as we slowly make our way to Lhasa
