Recorded 9/7/21 If one were to google “Great Scottish Rock Bands”, they might be a tad disappointed. My parental line goes back to Fergus of Galloway (around ~1180 AD) and near as I can tell, he and his clan spent most of their time drinking & killing others not of his clan (although sometimes mistakes were made). I can only assume that Fergus & family were NOT a big fan of the “arts”. So, when I ran across this little diddy written by a somewhat obscure British glam rock band (Slade), I thought this was about as close to “Scottish Rock” as I was going to get. Slade called this song “a rocky Scottish jig” and the music video had some men in kilts and a guy throwing a caber. That’s about as Scottishy as I’ve been able to find so far. Anyone else know of great Scottish rock bands? Song wise, I’d have to say that the drums were the biggest challenge on this. Luckily, the tough part was at the beginning (so at least if I screwed it up, I didn’t have to go back that far). Four paradiddles in
