An LGBT march has gone ahead in the Serbian capital Belgrade, despite being mired in controversy. Saturday’s ‘EuroPride March’ had initially been banned, but this was lifted at the last minute by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, leading to some 10,000 people taking part according to local media estimates. The planned route was shortened considerably however, given the large numbers of protesters also in attendance. Conservative demonstrators lined the route, with some throwing stun grenades, stones and flares at security personnel, leading to 64 arrests.
