They use the English verbs “to pull“, “to dance“, “to read“, “to draw“, “to write“, “to cut“, “to climb“, “to play“, “to stand“, “to drink“, “to crawl“, and “to push“ many times in the present progressive and other forms with many pictures, actions, and other visuals. These lessons are based on AUA Thai Program beginner courses, which used the Automatic Language Growth (ALG) approach developed by Dr. J. Marvin Brown and inspired in part by Dr. Stephen Krashen’s ideas and research on comprehensible input. This lesson is based on part of the Thai lesson in the video “Verbs Part 2 (Thai Conversation Café ft. Understand Thai: Absolute Beginner Intro Course)“ on the channel @ComprehensibleThai : Comprehensible English (English Comprehensible Input for ESL Beginners) is creating videos that beginning English learners can easily understand and acquire English from just by watching and listening, no matter what language they speak, even if they don’t know any English at all yet. The videos make English comprehensible to beginners and help learners acquire English using techniques from methods and approaches such as Stephen Krashen’s Natural Approach, Automatic Language Growth (ALG), Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS), and Total Physical Response (TPR). The aim is to teach English in English through a natural approach of helping learners acquire English implicitly, without translation, without explicit teaching of grammar and vocabulary, and without conscious study or practice.
