Giuseppe Verdi's second comic opera (described as a commedia lirica) and his last (of 28), Falstaff is based on the Shakespearian character - the fat knight who makes his living exploring others. It wasn't very sucessful, until Arturo Toscanini returned it to the regular operatic repertory. Here, it is conducted by Leonard Bernstein, with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau as... well, Falstaff.
