The opener is sleek and stylish. The design is simple with just one button. Pushing the lower part removes the cork from the bottle and pushing the upper part releases the cork from the opener. I’ve got a nice bottle of red wine to open. Take the foil cutter and place it on the top of the bottle. Turn the bottle and remove the foil. I usually use my nails or a knife so this is much easier. Put the Opener on top of the bottle straight, don’t hold the opener at an angle to the bottle. Press the lower part of the switch. The opener stops when the cork is removed from the bottle. Press the upper part of the button to release the cork. When you use a manual corkscrew, sometimes pieces of cork may break and end up in your wine. The manual openers have gotten better over the years but they still require physical effort. The Oster requires none and is great for people with arthritis or any kind of weakness in their hands.
