Witch-hunting in the twenty-first century. In the Democratic Republic of Congo there are still bloody traditions. If a person is suspected of dealing with witchcraft, he or she will be executed by being burned alive or stoned to death. Accusations of witchcraft can be triggered by the illness of a relative or a neighbour or any failure of theirs. There is a law against lynching, but it does not work. Every year there are dozens of brutal murders of those accused in using dark forces. The Mujakazis, village psychics, point out the alleged practitioners of witchcraft among them. Locals trust them unconditionally, as they are seen as prophets. Why are the accusations of the Mujakazis’ considered so infallible in the DR Congo? Watch our premiere Witch-Hunt in Congo to find out. #premiere #congo #rtdocumentary #rt #films#movie #documentaryfilms #documentaries #witches #crime
