Following the Great Northern War between Russia and Sweden, Robert Erskine, the personal physician of Peter I was granted the land until his death in 1718....... In 1743, Empress Elizabeth bestowed the estate to her favourite, Alexei Razumovsky, who turned the estate into a palace and park ensemble. On his death, Razumovsky passed the estate to his brother, Kirill, who again rebuilt the House and restored the park in the style of the English parks. From 1824-1872, the estate belonged to AM Potemkin and his wife, Princess Tatiana Golitsino. They rebuilt the palace in a gothic style, expanded the park and created new ponds and fountains... The final owner of Gostilitsky was Baroness Mary Karlovna Grevenits. It is from this time the interior photgraphs of the palace was taken.... Following the Revolution, the estate was nationalised by the government.. During the Great patriotic War, the estate found itself on the Front Line of the Oranienbaum bridgehead and was badly damaged.....
