In October of 1971 Slade recorded 3 nights of live shows which were being edited down into their seminal album 'Slade Alive', unfortunately no footage exists of those shows. With 'Coz I Luv You' notching up its fourth week at number 1 in the charts in the UK, the band took themselves off to Belgium to record an edition of 'Popshop', a weekly transmitted French language pop showcase from broadcasters RTBF channel. Recorded in Liège at the Palais des Congrès on the 29th November 1971. The fact that Slade even appeared on the show is interesting in that Popshop usually featured prog rock bands like Pentangle, Van Der Graf Generator, Genesis and the like, but we can all be glad that the footage has survived and this is the nearest we'll ever get to what Slade were like live in 1971! This is the crappy colourised version that nobody wants to you all will regardless!!
