Dreadout was a game released by a small Indonesian development team and that alone was enough to gather some interest amongst gamers. It would be a horror game that dealt with spirits which you could face off against using your camera. A lot of people immediately compared it to the Fatal Frame series, but the notion of using Indonesian folk lore as its base would hopefully be enough to justify Dreadout's existence. I personally really love Dreadout 2 but was not a big fan of the first game. I'm glad we get to archive it for the history books, but I mostly played it to showcase the story in preparation for Dreadout 2. Dreadout 1 also has not aged that well. The graphics are pretty bad (which they already were back in the day) and gameplay and movement is pretty clunky. There is also a weird stuttering going on which seems to happen with a lot who play this. I tried looking up footage from other YouTubers and many had to deal with that same stuttering.
