Love this scene in the “Help!“ movie. Iconic. This is a great example of how prolific these guys were. If any other group had a song as catchy as “You're Gonna Lose That Girl,“ it would've been their A-side and a signature song for that group. It has everything - a lovely Lennon vocal, a rocking McCartney piano shuffle, rock solid drumming, and a great (and underrated) Harrison guitar solo. Could've been a hit! It's also a little melancholy to think that this was one of John Lennon's last pure love songs with the Beatles. This and “It's Only Love“ mark the end of him writing for popularity and segueing into more autobiographical songs (“Nowhere Man,“ “Norwegian Wood,“ “In My Life“) , or just having fun with words (“Dig a Pony,“ “I Am The Walrus,“ “Across the Universe,“ “Come Together“). You can't count too many love songs in the Beatles from John after this.
