The blue Texas also known as the green Texas explode in color with this food. I highly advise it. It’s super popular in the Flowerhorn scene and does these fish really well. More Glass Cage Fun: Anyone have an idea how a full stock of fish in a tank could die? Currently moved the loach to a different tank since he was the only survivor. Oxygen depletion? Columnaris is one of the fastest killing diseases. Have a bit more of a back story? Well my betta bloated and went to the bottom, then I'm not so sure about the others, I just woke up and they all were either laid on the bottom of the tank or floating dead at the top. Not sure how it got all the others and not the loach. We're they curled up with mouths open? Usually that is from them trying to breathe. Mouth closed and it's usually another issue like a sickness or heater malfunction. No they were just all laid out. Not curl. The betta was bloated and looked like his gills were puffed out when I found him. The pygmy cat was floating at the top looking like he was having seizures. While the glass cat and pleco were just laying on the bottom. I hope not. It's been coming on and going off like it's supposed to. Are there any hardy fish I could put in it after I refill it just to see how it does? I've had a heater that would light up like it was turning on but never actually turned on. I'd actually just go with a cheap fish but best would be a voltmeter. If the heater is defective it should short once it turns on. it's been working just fine and keeping the tank at the right temperature. I just ran a ph test on the tap water bc I've never had an issue out of it, but it's running between neutral and high alkalinity. I'm gonna by some bottled water and let that cycle through and test it again. I'll throw in some of that starter stuff too. Or do you think the starter stuff would fix the water? Blue Texas cichlids are awesome fish. Yes, for like a month now. Just it been cleaned and emptied. I've just gotta boil some water to put in it and I'm gonna try adding some of the Tetra Easy Balance. I'd do a deep clean of the tank. I wouldn't mess with the chemistry of the water at all either. Consistency is key. The only thing I ever add is prime during WC. Once a year I will add bacteria just to ensure each type of bacteria is at a good level. I use stability by seachem. Nothing better IMO. And I'd also get the tank running and the cycle established before adding any fish. You can speed up the cycle by getting some seeded media from a local fish keeper or a pet store sometimes. And don't do the boiled water. That will just break the glass. Just use bleach water mix, 1:10 ratio. Once that dried completely the bleach is no longer toxic as it will have all evaporated. Give it a good rinse and good to go. I did an apple cider vinegar and water soak on it. I want sure how safe it was to use bleach. The tank is set up and ready to go. I'm going to let it cycle for a while though like you suggested. Probably best. It really sucks waiting with an empty tank but worth it in the end. And I'm not sure the apple cider vinegar is good or not. I've always used and been told the regular vinegar only. Bleach is actually even safer than vinegar as long as it completely dries or is soaked with dechlorinated water for a while. Hey your going thru an uncycled not fully cycled new tank syndrome. If starting all over... see if can get some filter medium from lps or a friend. Will help speed process. Beneficial bacteria in bottle good to help like when not as good in starting up. Danios are farly cheap and decent fish.. fairly hardy.... get 3 of those after running few days to help start cycling. Also read in files section how to cycle tank. Okay, thank you! I've never had this problem of all my fish just dying off and it really sucks. I'm gonna try my hardest to make sure I get it back up to what it used to be. I agree we need more info. I had a full angle fish set up die after a water change. I hadn't realized I filled the tank to high and didn't have room on top to exchange oxygen. I was a very sad day in the hobby for me. Yea, my boyfriend's mom put air stones in one night when I went to work and woke up the next morning and couldn't find my fish. Turns out they all piled into a corner and were hiding from them. It could be a lot of things. Check your water parameters, did they have any symptoms beforehand, how much aeration do you have going on, any plants, did you possibly use any chemicals around the tank while cleaning, did you add any new fish relatively recently, could there have been any kind of chemical or soap on your hands the last time you put your hands in the tank? Sooooo many factors!
