CORY HENRY & THE FUNK APOSTLES - Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2017 Date & Location: FRIDAY 07 JULY 2017 • MAAS • 22:00 - 23:15 Cory Alexander Henry (born February 27, 1987) is an American jazz organist, pianist, gospel musician, and producer. A former member of Snarky Puppy, Henry launched his solo artist career in 2018 with Art of Love, his first independent release. LINEUP Cory Henry (vocals, keyboards); Denise Renee, Tiffany Stevenson (backing vocals); Adam Agati (guitar); Nicholas Semrad (keyboards); Sharay Reed (bass); TaRon Lockett, Cleon Edwards (drums). ABOUT - press release of this concert: In jazz, you're still in your infancy at age 30 but Brooklyn-based talent Cory Henry already has catalog worthy of a man twice his age having shared the stage with the likes of Nas, Bruce Springsteen, The Roots and Snarky Puppy. Henry is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who is mainly known for returning the glorious Hammond B-3 organ to the spotlight. This has already earned him two Grammy Awards. Henry has found the perfect complement to his virtuoso playing in his own band The Funk Apostles, with their exciting rhythms and blazing guitar solos. When they appeared on The Tonight Show presenter Jimmy Fallon – who is never at a loss for words – was left desperately seeking superlatives. The charismatic Henry presented the band's second and most recent album The Revival (2016) at last year's North Sea Jazz and we have a strong feeling that may have marked the start of a new tradition.
