In 2022, when Anne Fundner was living in California with her husband and three children, she experienced the unexpected and devastating loss of her 15-year-old son who was poisoned by fentanyl-laced pills. Shortly after her son’s death, Anne and her family moved to the East Coast to be closer to family and find a community to support them; California authorities would not pursue prosecution for her son’s overdose.
