Our filmmaker Roman Khomlyak created this amazing walking tour along the Pratt River trail in the summer of 2022 so that every viewer has the opportunity to go on a summer forest walk, no matter the circumstances. He used a special Laowa lens providing ultra-wide coverage to create a cinematic fairytale atmosphere. Enjoy the relaxing sounds of the forest, recorded right during the shooting on the forest path, dense thickets of ferns and deciduous trees, through the leaves of which the sunlight breaks so beautifully! The video was shot in 4K 120fps but then transferred to 4K 24fps slow motion. Walking along the beautiful Pratt River Trail in the Washington rainforest, it's hard not to wonder why there's so much moss here. It's all about a certain unique ecosystem of the Washington forest in the west of the state. The climatic features of the terrain in the Snoqualmie area are due to the fact that mountain ranges create the so-called “rain shadow effect“, when moisture brought by winds from the ocean falls on the western slopes, contributing to the rapid growth of vegetation. And given that this region is one of the rainiest in the state, the lush growth of moss on the trees is completely reasonable! Our filmmaker is lucky to live an hour from the Pratt River Trail. Thanks to fairly warm winters and a temperate climate, he can walk through the ancient moss forest at any time. And using your camera, you can also create such masterpiece forest walk!
