By delivering this Choral Itinerary to the disc, we wish to fix in time and offer our audience the memory of so many concerts with an anthological programme: a polyvocal overview, therefore, ranging from the 10th to the 17th century, touching on the most diverse and dislocated stations of the choral experience in Europe. Along with similar themes, con-constant poetic atmospheres are mixed in: the prayer precedes the serenade, the motet alternates with the madriga-le, the Renaissance song prepares the modern song, the burlesque jargon of the musical scherzo bickers with the pensive tone of choral meditation. In short: sacred love finds its place alongside profane love, if by “sacred' and 'profane' we want to comprehensively understand and sing 'affects and effects' of the divine, the human, nature and the things of the world. ➤ Music by: Corale Polifonica Valchiusella and Bernardino Streito From the album 'Itinerario Corale in Europa dal X al XX secolo' ℗ 1993 Pro Civitate Christiana Listen this album on all digital platforms: 00:00 “Victimae paschali laudes“ Wipo (ca 980 - 1050) Gregorian sequence in Mode I 01:41 “Troppo perde 'l tempo“ Laudario 91 di Cortona - 13th century Laude 03:25 “Voi k'amate lo Chriatore“ Laudario 91 di Cortona - 12th century Laude 06:47 “Ave cœlorum domina“ Josquin Despres (Beaurevoir, Piccardia, ca. 1440 - Condé-sur-l'Escaut, Valenciennes, 1521?)
