Subscribe and 🔔 to Eurovision 👉 Carola won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991 with 'Fångad Av En Stormvind' when hosted by Rome, Italy. At the end of the voting, there was nothing to separate Sweden and France - both on 146 points - and so the tie-break rule that was introduced in 1989 had to be used! Both songs had the same amount of 12 points so the number of 10 points awarded was tallied, and as Sweden received more sets of these, Carola was declared the winner. Carola had already participated in 1983 with the song 'Främling' which finished third, and in 2006 she participated once again and finished in 5th place with 'Invincible'.
