Fire-retardant materials aren’t exactly new, but this one from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore provides transparency and fire retardance. According to NTU, there are only a few products that claim to have both properties and are either very costly or unable to pass international standards required for industry use. Another material with similar properties was revealed on national television in the U.K. in the 1990’s. It showed the possibility of preventing an egg from being burned at all. This magic-like material would never be seen again until 2013, and since then not much more is known.
