EN : The monastery of Žiča is a Serbian Orthodox monastery located near the city of Kraljevo. The monastery of Žiča was founded in 1208 by Stefan I Nemanjić, called “the first crowned“, on the initiative of his brother Saint Sava. The Monastery was destroyed at the end of the 13th century by Bulgarian-Mongolian troops of the despot Shishman of Vidin, it was rebuilt by King Stefan Milutin at the beginning of the 14th century.
