On the day of the presidential election and the referendum on European integration in Moldova, the country’s Foreign Ministry could not resist a jab at the polling stations in Russia, oddly commenting on a video with queues at the Moldovan embassy in Moscow. In Chisinau, they stated that the crowds of those wishing to vote were allegedly artificially created in order to “jeopardize the electoral process“. The Foreign Ministry also claims that they allegedly foresaw “the illegal delivery of voters“. However, this is much simpler to explain: according to a decree of the Moldovan Central Election Commission, only two polling stations were opened in Russia instead of the planned 29, which expectedly led to queues. Moreover, only 10,000 ballots were sent to Russia in total.
